Project 1 - Perfect Imperfect
Over time, I have moved beyond a nomadic existence of fitting in temporarily. Settling in Dartmoor has allowed me to form a profound connection with this untamed and rugged landscape and recently to find my own voice. While walking and running through it, I gather found materials that become integral to my process — embedded within my sculptures, drawings, and paintings. This deliberate way of working ensures that each piece is tied emotionally and physically to the place of its creation, reflecting both the landscape’s and my own state of being at that moment in time.
My practice now centres on exploring the link between inner emotion and visual form, and how this relates to our sense of place. Evolving through layers of colour and texture, my work seeks to reflect the complexity of perception, and to uncover the fragility, resilience, and story held within form. Through this process, I have discovered a way of seeing and creating that is uniquely my own — one that allows me to articulate what feels most vital: the quiet beauty and vulnerability of the world around us, and our deep, enduring connection to it.
I am thrilled that The South West Academy of Fine and Applied Art Open 2025 have selected my piece “ Resting” and That The London Art Biennale 2025 have selected “Fallen” , which were works completed in the last 9 months.
